Travelogue Writing – this is presented by Gary Ivory and will teach you how to use themed and short story writing to document your travels. Travelogue writing is a beautiful and immersive experience. Gary is excited to be presenting this dynamic workshop and is looking forward to guiding others into the methodology of writing travelogues.

Guest Speaker

Marisa Parker – Marisa is a Gold Coast author who published GOODBYE To Italia in 2016. With this title, Marisa has been recognised as a B.R.A.G. Medallion Honoree and shortlisted for the International Rubery Book of the Year.  Marisa and husband Gerald have two grown-up daughters who were born in Zimbabwe, Africa – where she was also born. They left Africa in 2000 and went to live in New Zealand for six years before moving to Australia which is now their home. Marisa’s mamma, Maria (Iucci) Martore and papa, Eugenio Piergiovanni, have led such an amazing life that she had to write their story. The first book, GOODBYE To Italia – a timid Italian girl; a young soldier; a love story – is about their diverse experiences in Italy and Africa in WWII. Marisa is now writing their second book after they married and went to live in Africa. The story will be related personally from her mother’s perspective, as she recalls it. A captivating and insightful presentation into writing about family, set in such a difficult time, and bringing this story to the world.

There are common mistakes and pitfalls in file preparation for authors that can often cause issues, and often excess costs, in submissions to traditional publishers, printers and self-publishing outlets like Createspace and Ingram. Many can be prevented when we have successfully set up our manuscripts. Kerri is looking forward to sharing her insight in this field.
