Membership Renewals

Current GCWA members will automatically receive a renewal invoice one month before their membership expiry date. Please note – if you selected a three-year membership, you will only receive an invoice before the end of that three-year term, not annually.

You do not need to complete a new membership application form to renew. Simply respond to your renewal invoice when it arrives. The membership application form is for first-time members only.

If you’re unsure of your membership number or renewal date, please email membership@goldcoastwriters.org and we’ll be happy to help.

Andy McDermott Achievement Award

The Andy McDermott Achievement Award is presented each year to a current financial Gold Coast Writers’ Association member who has made a significant contribution to their own writing/writing business or to the GCWA community.

The 2025 Andy McDermott Achievement Award was presented to Steph Laverie at our AGM in September.

Steph has used her skills, time and talents to make a big difference to the GCWA community. Her effort has had a direct impact on the significant increase of GCWA memberships over the past two years. Our community awareness has grown as a result. Steph is conscientious in everything she does and has worked especially hard over the 2024-2025 term, taking on two significant committee roles. GCWA appreciates and thanks Steph for her commitment and dedication.

If there is someone in our community who you believe is deserving of this award, please consider nominating them for our next presentation in September 2026. Nominations open a month prior to the AGM in September each year.
